Wallowa Mtns

My buddy Pete threw together a little hut trip in the Wallowa Mtns a few weeks ago. The Wallowas are a large granite outcropping in northeast Oregon, much different than the volcanic Cascades we're used to around Bend. The terrain and cold snow had more of a Rocky Mtn feel to it, and the skiing was fantastic!

Check out my first ever attempt at ski porn... the Wallowa highlight clip!!!

Our accomodations for the week were the lovely Sheep Creek huts, part of the Wing Ridge Hut system, a mere 4 mile ski in from the road.

Earning those turns. We skinned and skied hard, all day every day.

The snow was great... conditions were medium dicey.

We could see the Snake River canyon and Idaho in the distance.

Face shots all week long!

We barely even scratched the surface of the terrain out there.

We swung by the TG Brewery in Enterprise, OR on the way back... home of the famous IPA.
